I've always loved this photo of my great-nieces and drew it once before in pencil. Today I decided to complete it in pastels. This is my first attempt at painting figures.
Thanks, Elaine. I was very happy with the photograph and planned to paint it "someday". It was a good one to begin painting figures with, because I love these two little girls.
I am a pastel artist living in Marietta, Georgia. During a career in social work and training, I focused on the ways that life experiences determine our identities and character. Each of us has a "story" that makes us interesting and unique. I have found that the same is true in the world of art. My primary interest is in painting scenes from nature in a way that reveals some of that story - the character as well as the beauty. I hope you enjoy my art and will join me on the journey.

Jayne,
I love your painting. You have really captured a wonderful moment in time, and it loks like you've been painting people for years. This is so good.
