With Apologies to Monet....

Holly and Karen came to paint today. I really didn't want to work on any of our homework assignments, so I rifled through a stack of photos set aside for possible paintings and found the waterlillies. So, I had to give them a try. They're far more complicated to paint than they appear, and I worked on them most of the afternoon. All in all, they were a good learning piece. I have higher hopes for the next version!

Couldn't resist posting for this one -- absolutely beautiful!!!! This should be framed. And regarding the homework -- do one painting for yourself, then one for homework or class, or to sell! I don't always work on just what I need to -- you always need to work on something just for yourself!

Thanks so much Marsha. Actually, I've managed to do it all. The homework really helps me learn, but I'm only painting subjects I want to paint anyway. It's the best of both worlds. I've relly been having fun painting today - you'll laugh when I post again. It will probably not be today, however. Perhaps tomorrow.
